Aaytha Ezhuthu was flagged off as a commercial success by critics, movie analysts and general public. In the movie, a strapping young political activist, Michael played by Actor Suriya, enters TN politics when rowdyism was fevered as patriotism. He plays a born leader who guides eccentric youth to work for their nation's upliftment over settling in foreign lands.

"He wants money. He is penniless now. How can we trust an actor? I would rather vote for the man who has been mentored for 50 years by his father" says Selvi, a house cook from Kumbakonam, regarding 2021 TN elections.

Near the climax, we understand that Suriya has demolished all his obstacles in his political journey and lands up with 4 MP seats triumphantly.

In 2004, only 2 political parties reigned the Tamizhnadu's political scene. However, this movie made us think. We questioned ourselves. A wonder that seemed like a far stretched dream. Will we ever have the courage to pass on the baton to someone new? If the candidate showed potential with a vigour for political and ecomonomic transformation? Yes.

But reality is stranger than fiction which was evident in the 2021 election where homespun political parties ruled the ballot, the way it did in 2004.
