Netflix has released a series titled, "Conspiracies" which kickstarts with Hitler's death and the Nazi faux pas surrounding it. The resemblances between Manick Basha and Adolf Hitler leave us in a dark amusement.

The theory behind Adolf Hitler's death, who is believed by have died by suicide on April 20 1945, is debunked by journalists and conspiracy theorists as a hoax. It is believed that he escaped from Berlin on the fateful night with the help of his trusted secretary Martin Bormann. Hitler and his wife Eva Braun were replaced by body doubles who were murdered by Nazi troops after Hitler safely escaped the war zone.

In the movie, Manick Baasha's final face-off with Mark Antony, the infamous extremist, leads to the death of his father. Rangasamy, Basaha's father, implores him to retreat to Chennai and lead a quiet life with his family. Hitler's right hand man Bormann, is played by Baasha's father Rangasamy. Both the characters are fiercely loyal to their hero and have their best interests in mind.

As expected, Baasha and his entourage travel to Chennai. Manick Baasha becomes Manickam and plays a pacifist auto-driver. He becomes a peace-giver and his world shrinks to his brother Shiva, sister Geetha and his mother. Hitler takes a step further here. Conspiracy theorists believe that Hitler had escaped Berlin and moved to the South pole. Hitler lodges with his troops in the Antarctic where he runs an underworld empire with his Nazi men. It is also said that the lion is merely resting to pounce back at the world with a blood-thirsty vengeance at the right time.

Director Suresh Krishna has taken a dictator's life and flavoured it with positive reinforcements, knowingly or unknowingly. Two stories with enigmatic men in the lead. What makes one sour and the other sweet? The missing link called Anwar who was a personification of empathy. Baasha is a timeless saga which will continue to amaze us with its healthy heroism.
