How Netflix predicted IPL's retreat ???

IPL ads have garnered a unique fan following since 2020. The quirky Dream 11, Cred and Zomato ads have felt the love of ardent cricket fans. The old man with the Jamun and Madhuri shaking her legs to Cred's jingle have got over a million hits on Youtube. This year, they played the field with their creativity starting from Cred tapping into Rahul's temper. However, Dream 11 and Zomato's sombre approach made us blink in shock. And all of a sudden, came Ranbir.


The ad starts off on a typical note stating Netflix is all about entertainment and the usual humdrum. He stops to notice that the crew shooting the ad is immersed in their mobiles watching the match! Ranbir ends the ad by saying, "Milte, Cricket ki Baad". This ad was a slow-runner with the ball crossing the net!

While the world is split into 2 uneven halves where one half of humanitarians believe it is the hour to mope and stay depressed due to the onslaught of covid cases. And the other half in their PJ's scrolling news about COVID deaths while watching the match on their big screens. The world is truly unsettling after the suspension of IPL due the infiltration of bio bubble. Several players from different teams have been infected. The international players remain in a dreadful state between between the pitch and the dugout, desperate to get back to their homelands.


As we all retreat to OTT sagas, we cannot stop to wonder how Netflix predicted this right!
