Actor Vijay shocked the film industry by voluntarily retiring as an actor to become a politician. The actor's first speech in Madurai won the attention of potential young voters as they saw their favourite actor on the verge of becoming a revolutionary leader Tamilnadu has been waiting for.

His speech was perceived honest and authentic by the general public and the first wave of support resonated across India. There was a lull for 8 months where Vijay was seen addressing smaller gatherings and events. He did not leave a monumental comment or tweet until his recent keynote address in Madurai.
Many commented that Vijay has transitioned from an actor to politician after 9 months in the cocoon. He commenced his speech by hailing the late veteran actor Vijaykanth and dove right into his larger-than-life analogies. A lion is always a lion, he begins.
He claimed he possesses all the attributes like the King of the Jungle - an unbreakable spirit to fight with animals mightier than him, the intellect to co-exist with other animals and the courage to fight alone if needed. The held the audience in his palm with this comparison.
He declared BJP as his moral enemy and DMK as his political enemy, leaving ADMK in the dark.

Many political experts term this as a strategic move claiming TVK is equipped to take the place on ADMK. Though trash talk is a given in political speeches, Vijay's first speech was speckled with integrity even when he laid out accusations against the opposition parties. However, in his latest address, he referred to Stalin as "uncle" which left a sour taste in his young supporters who envisioned Vijay as a respectable politician with principles.
He targeted DMK stating their incompetent leadership, BJP towards religious colouring in management and ADMK's staggering command in the upcoming elections. Many experts term this as "safe play" as his abrasive complaints fell flat under the "generic" umbrella. He ended the stanza, re-establishing his promise to run the state well, keeping the safety of women, children, seniors and the impoverished in mind.

TVK's Leader Vijay was also seen addressing important lines in English, making an instant connection with the educated voters. He addressed the elephant in the room stating that he chose to become a politician to do good to society and not as a hail mary pass to compensate a withering career as an actor. Many insinuate the line towards Kamal Hassan.
He ended his speech with the most powerful line stating all district representatives are facets of himself. The votes that go towards his candidates is a reflection of the love people have towards him. For a brief moments, the "Actor Vijay", made a special appearance, reminding the public of their decade-long affinity towards him.

Popularly known as "Vijay Anna" by his young fans, he ends his speech promising he will forever remain their Big Brother. A winning move.
Though his speech may have come under scrutiny for aggressive self-branding, he played his cards well sizzling different emotions in his listeners - anger against the existing government, laughter at the pun directed towards the state and country heads, nostalgia when he addressed the gathering as his brothers and sisters and an outpour of unconditional love when he addressed himself as Unga Vijay
